What is a Liége Waffle anyway?

Liége waffles come from the town of Liége in Belgium.  You may have had a Belgiam waffle, but don’t confuse it with the Liége Waffle – they are so very different!

The Liége waffle is rich, dense, sweet, and chewy. with a donut like texture.  Yes, we said donut!  waffle close up

It’s an18th century adaptation of brioche bread dough, featuring pearl sugar from Belgium, which caramelizes on the outside of the waffle when ironed.

We serve it just like it’s done on the streets of Belgium - with a little dusting of powdered sugar or you can ramp it up.

Have it topped with our homemade salted Chimay beer caramel, or Belgian hot fudge or go all out and have one of waffle sundaes topped with vanilla frozen custard, caramel, hot fudge, vanilla whipped cream and toasted pecans.  waffle sundae close up

It’s so sinfully good, you’ll be back for more!
